Wired and Adobe collaborated to create Wired Magazine on the iPad. Everyone in the magazine and newspaper business is looking to the iPad as their white knight. I am doubtful that it can deliver on the vaunted expectations, but we can hope. Regardless, the video is great.
Here are some salient quotes that I pulled from the video:
“This is a chance to reset the economics. For the first time people may value this experience enough to pay for it.”, Chris Andersen, Editor in Chief, Wired
“There is still going to be rich story telling, there is still going to be narrative art, but we’ll be able to do it in short film and 360′s, and [we'll have] the ability to turn a product around and look at all sides of it… The advertising is as important as the editorial in all of our magazines, especially in Wired.” -Scott Dadich, Creative Director, Wired
This is the interesting fact of modern media. Because of the money spent on production, because of the time put into it, advertising has become equal to the main content in the competition for our attention.
